- Some of our Audiologists are clinically vulnerable and may ask you to wear a type iiR mask and will provide one if required. We thank you for your cooperation
- We strongly recommend that you soften your ear wax with Earol spray, 2 squirts in each ear (optionally with the addition of 2 drops of glycerol), 4 times a day for at least 5 days prior to your appointment. If you want to use cotton wool to hold the oil in, first saturate the cotton wool in petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline), so the cotton wool doesn’t soak up all the Earol. Make sure you squirt the Earol over a sink until you see oil spray out in order to expel any air prior to application.

Appointment made on the day of diagnosis. Seen on time and procedure carried out in 15 minutes with immediate clear hearing, having suffered with muffled hearing for a week. Procedure painless if a bit noisy. Would highly recommend to anyone with earn wax problems.

I had microsuction of both ears today with Stephanie who was gentle and careful and made me feel totally safe and relaxed. I have very narrow ear canals and have had experiences of discomfort and pain in the past with other practitioners but not with Hearing First. My second time to have microsuction ear wax removal, the first being with Jason many years ago at the Baker Street premises. For just over a week I had lost over 75% of my hearing in one ear and was worried that it was something more serious than wax build up. Fortunately it wasn’t just a large amount of hard wax which had accumulated due to using wax earplugs compacting the ear wax. Jason cleared it up quickly and hearing back to normal. No more tinnitus!
Would definitely recommend.

Beth was very friendly and put me at ease prior to starting the procedure of ear wax removal. It was a quick and painless experience. Although only my right ear was blocked Beth checked my left ear and removed the small amount of wax from that ear too. I can now hear properly again just in time for my holiday abroad. I would highly recommend this procedure to anyone suffering with ear wax.

I first consulted Faye Yearsley in May 2022 for ear wax problems and was delighted to have my hearing fully restored after microsuction so that when the same problem occurred again recently I had no hesitation in returning for further treatment. Although only my left ear was blocked Faye kindly offered to look at the right ear which she found was also blocked and for a small additional fee was able to remove it. I have the highest regard for her professionalism and care and I did not experience any pain or discomfort whatsoever. Would definitely recommend her.
