- Some of our Audiologists are clinically vulnerable and may ask you to wear a type iiR mask and will provide one if required. We thank you for your cooperation
- We strongly recommend that you soften your ear wax with Earol spray, 2 squirts in each ear (optionally with the addition of 2 drops of glycerol), 4 times a day for at least 5 days prior to your appointment. If you want to use cotton wool to hold the oil in, first saturate the cotton wool in petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline), so the cotton wool doesn’t soak up all the Earol. Make sure you squirt the Earol over a sink until you see oil spray out in order to expel any air prior to application.

I booked an appointment with Jonathan Potter in the Botley clinic. Definitely my best experience of ear wax removal in terms of service, the venue, the price. I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars for effectiveness because it was 90% successful but this is most likely to the type of ear drops I was using before the appointment but in a few days I should have full hearing back in one ear once it has dried out.

My ears were clogged and right ear uncomfortable. My GP recommended me to use ear drops for 5 days to soften the wax and book a microsuction ear wax removal after. I found Hearing First online and booked the appointment online. It took a little while but instructions were very clear. The ear care professional explained the process (I have had ears syringed once over 5 years ago but not microsuction). My worse right ear was done first. Procedure wasn’t too uncomfortable and then my left ear. I was given a full explanation of what had been done, found and any next steps. I was happy with it all.
