- Some of our Audiologists are clinically vulnerable and may ask you to wear a type iiR mask and will provide one if required. We thank you for your cooperation
- We strongly recommend that you soften your ear wax with Earol spray, 2 squirts in each ear (optionally with the addition of 2 drops of glycerol), 4 times a day for at least 5 days prior to your appointment. If you want to use cotton wool to hold the oil in, first saturate the cotton wool in petroleum jelly (such as Vaseline), so the cotton wool doesn’t soak up all the Earol. Make sure you squirt the Earol over a sink until you see oil spray out in order to expel any air prior to application.

One of my ears was completely blocked with hardened wax. Ear drops were softening it, but something more was needed. GP surgeries no longer offer an ear syringing service, so I looked for private alternatives, and found micro suction. It’s not something I’d heard of before, but the web site was reassuring, so I made the earliest convenient booking I could.
When I turned up at the shop a little early, it was locked and apparently closed on Mondays. But a few minutes before my appointment time, Stephanie emerged and called me in. She was friendly, very informative, and let me know exactly what to expect. She certainly knows her stuff, and worked confidently and efficiently. All went well, and she soon had all the wax out, with no problems or pain (just some funny whistling noises as the wax and dead skin flakes were sucked out). It’s a relief that my hearing is back to normal.
Apart from lacking a note on the door to confirm that the ear wax removal sessions were happening, I can’t think of anything to criticise. It was easy to book, and everything proceeded to plan. All in all, it was well worth doing, and done very well.
